A Focus on Mentorship

All students in the English, Writing, and Rhetoric major are mentored by compassionate faculty who are actively publishing and participating across the fields of writing and cultural studies. Faculty support contributes to your success through mentorship. You will conference with faculty over your writing, as well as develop goals and actions to support long-term career goals. Additional opportunities with faculty include research and department assistantships. English, Writing ,and Rhetoric faculty and staff prioritize building connections between coursework and career aspirations.

Professor Mundy’s teaching and research focus on theories of composition and rhetoric, writing program administration and assessment, and masculinity studies.

Professor Manivannan is an Eelam Tamil American disabled creative-critical writer whose work focuses on Sri Lanka’s ethnic conflict and the cultural, embodied nature of chronic pain, intergenerational trauma, and composition.

Professor Cadman’s research interests include visual arts, performance, publication, and creative writing focused on poetry and poetics, literary and speculative fictions, genre blending works and hybrid forms, drama, creative nonfiction, writing abroad, and content writing in virtual spaces.
